Note 1. As an experiment, Crimson, Orange and White Fronted Chats were successfully bred on the NFB CAKE FORMULA, only – i.e. no insects. The experiment has not been conducted over a long enough period for it to become a standard recommendation.
The experiment using a standard purchased pound cake, crumbed and mixed with NFB supplements failed. The birds remained healthy, but very few youngsters were bred to independence.

Note 2. The NFB CAKE FORMULA can be used as a soft food supplement for finches.
