THE BENGALESE FINCH by Fred Panjer and Jan Wigmore

If you are an enthusiast of the Bengalese finch then this is a great book for you. The Bengalese is a fully domesticated synthetic hybrid developed in China over 400 years ago and further developed through several mutations by European enthusiasts. They are an extraordinary species and this 140 page book explains why so many people are fascinated by them. It describes their History, Husbandry, Breeding, Showing and depicts all the mutations in brilliant colour images. Some of the mutations are truly stunning birds and they are widely included in Finch Shows in Australia. The book was originally written in Dutch and with multiple expert contributors and was then translated into English.
